About Louisiana Criminal History

Louisiana criminal records are split among state and parish custodians. Louisiana State Police BCII maintains the central fingerprint-supported history system. Louisiana DPS&C Corrections Services handles state custody information. Louisiana State Police publishes the State Sex Offender and Child Predator Registry, while courts and parish agencies keep source case, booking, and incident files. This privately run reference site organizes those routes so readers can identify the right official system or parish office without treating one database as a complete record.

Why We Built This Site

The hardest part of a Louisiana criminal record search is often choosing the correct custodian. A Louisiana State Police BCII history is not the same as a clerk's docket. A Louisiana DPS&C custody record serves a different purpose from a parish jail roster, and the statewide registry answers a separate question. Louisiana has 64 parishes, each with local arrest and court sources. The site brings the statewide systems into one reference point, then lets readers move to a parish when the original booking, report, or case file is needed.

What You Will Find Here

The material is organized around distinct Louisiana record channels:

What We Cannot Do

Louisiana Criminal History is a privately operated reference site, not a court, police agency, sheriff, or state office. Its role has firm limits:

  • It cannot retrieve an official criminal history or run an authorized check
  • It cannot issue a certified court record, rap sheet, or police report
  • It cannot file a public-record request or expungement motion for a reader
  • It cannot provide legal advice about a charge, warrant, or case
  • It cannot promise that an agency's fee, address, or procedure has not changed

Only the Louisiana agency or parish office that holds a record can issue an official copy or confirm its current status.

Search Partners

Some search boxes are supplied by outside providers. Those companies control their own results, prices, data practices, and account terms. A paid signup reached through a partner tool may generate a referral fee that supports site operations. Louisiana Criminal History does not control the partner's response or present it as an official Louisiana record.
